Tumors, LILT prevention week

"We have to do a job as an Italian and international community to reduce the number of patients and therefore prevent risk factors, one of which is tobacco, Lilt does an important job of prevention. I'm glad there's a campaign against fake news especially aimed at young people ".

This is how Health Minister Giulia Grillo at the press conference to present the awareness campaign for the 18th edition of the National Week for Cancer Prevention LILT - Italian League for the Fight against Cancer which was held on March 14 at the Cosimo Piccinno Auditorium of Lungotevere ripa in Rome.

The initiative, created to spread the culture of prevention as a way of life and raise awareness of the importance of correct lifestyles in order to prevent cancer, is sponsored by the Ministry of Health, the Presidency of the Council, ANCI, FNOMCeO and CONI and in partnership with Confcooperative.
This year the prevention week will take place from 16 to 24 March and will have a double mission: to invite the population to healthy life and to follow-up visits, and to warn against fake news on cancer prevention, in particular regarding the power supply.
Testimonial is the writer and journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli, she too, through LILT, invites everyone to rely only on true prevention, such as the Mediterranean diet, regular physical activity, medical checks, alcohol and cigarette stop. The campaign hashtag is: #sceglilapreenzione.

Specialist control visits to Lilt centers
During the National Cancer Prevention Week it will be possible to carry out specialist checkups at the nearly 400 prevention centers and 106 provincial LILT offices.
Furthermore, in all the main squares of Italian cities, there will be the LILT gazebos where volunteers will provide advice and information on the rules of prevention and where it will also be possible to find, with a contribution to support the activities promoted by LILT, a bottle of extra virgin olive oil Italian olive oil, typical food of the Mediterranean diet, a friend of health and a historical symbol of the prevention campaign.

The soccer series A takes the field for the campaign
The Serie A football league also took the field to support the LILT campaign: on the occasion of the eighth round of the championship, 8,9,10 and 11 March the initiative was presented with the exhibition in the stadiums of a banner in the center of the field before the games start and by reading a brief message from the stadium speaker.
The campaign was also supported by the Italian Federation of AIA Referees and was sponsored by the National Coaching Association.
